Job Summary
CIB Risk Analyst focused on Counterparty Risk (CCR) within Wholesale Credit Risk. Responsibilities include assessing client-level exposures, determining execution limits, monitoring portfolio concentration, and escalating risks in collaboration with Credit Officers, Front Office, and Sales. The role involves analyzing margin methodologies, advising on counterparty credit exposure for complex deals, providing SME guidance on methodology releases, partnering with QR, Technology, and Credit Officers to refine exposure methodologies and tools, and supporting regulatory and audit matters. The candidate will contribute to firm-wide projects around exposure metrics and technical enhancements and will operate across locations to ensure consistency and transparency in risk metrics and escalation. Required capabilities include strong quantitative background, proficiency in Excel, Python, and data-automation tools (Tableau, Alteryx), and effective communication to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Preferred experience includes margins, collateral or exposure metrics across derivatives and related products; knowledge of JPM systems is advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance and/or Economics
- Previous experience in a risk/trading/valuation control/quantitative research role
- Proficiency with MS Excel; familiarity with Bloomberg
- Proficiency in coding (Python) and automation tools (Tableau and Alteryx) would be beneficial
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialists
- Accountability, ownership mindset, risk judgment and ability to challenge conclusions
