Job Summary
Conduct vocal music instruction covering theory, techniques, and performance while delivering standards-based lessons through whole-group, small-group, and individualized formats. Develop and implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and organize concerts, recitals, and community performances. Maintain classrooms, manage instrument inventory, and supervise students during rehearsals and activities. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, support staff, and parents to support student achievement. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and a valid Virginia Teaching License with appropriate endorsement. Current TB screening is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education (Vocal or Instrumental) or equivalent coursework for teacher licensure
- Eligible for or currently holding a valid Virginia Teaching License with appropriate endorsement
- Knowledge of vocal music instruction, music theory, and music education practices
- Expertise in vocal performance and music pedagogy
- Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, administrators, and staff
- Current Tuberculin (TB) screening confirming the absence of contagious tuberculosis
- Ability to work in classroom, rehearsal, and performance environments
