Chorus Librarian

Job Summary
Chorus Librarian with part-time hours, primarily at Music Hall, handling daily library duties for the chorus library and supporting performances for CSO and affiliated ensembles. Responsibilities include preparing chorus music, selecting editions/languages for performances, counting and distributing parts to personnel, coordinating with directors and chorus managers, ordering new parts, generating handouts, cataloging and filing music, maintaining performance history and expanding digital archives, and developing workflow systems. Requires a strong background in music/choral performance, knowledge of music theory and foreign language terms, and proficiency with office software (Finale/Sibelius a plus). Schedule includes evening and weekend hours aligned with rehearsal/performance schedules, with 10-15 hrs/week March–June and 5-10 hrs/week July–February, occurring primarily at Music Hall with possible alternate venues. Reports to Principal Librarian and chair.
Required Qualifications
- Strong background in music and/or choral performance
- Knowledge of performance practices, music theory, and foreign language music terms
- Working knowledge of office computer systems
- Prior chorus library experience
- Ability to lift/move boxes of music
- Attention to detail and neat, efficient work
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with music preparation software (e.g., Finale, Sibelius) is a plus
