Job Summary
Deliver exceptional customer service at the Mall of Africa boutique by greeting guests, educating them on product profiles, and actively upselling to meet daily sales budgets and transaction spend goals. Process orders through the POS, manage individual tills including float counts and end-of-shift procedures, and address complaints immediately by informing the Manager. Execute store operations by restocking, cleaning fixtures, performing open and closing checklists, and conducting daily temperature readings and stock counts. Comply with food hygiene standards, manual handling requirements for stock up to 12kgs, and safety protocols while maintaining immaculate grooming. Monitor sales to maximize profitability and manage merchandise ordering and loss prevention.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Powerpoint)
- Customer service
- Sales skills
- Ability to handle credit card transactions
- Previous experience in customer service
- Previous experience in a similar retail environment

- Comprehensive understanding of products including, but not limited to, product specifications (handling, ingredients, storage, allergens)
- Product pricing, packaging, and category performance knowledge
- Awareness of daily sales budgets
- Ability to actively upsell to increase customer transaction spend
- Ability to develop a rapport with regular customers encouraging repeat business
- Ability to multitask between completing store operational tasks and serving customers
- Ability to manage individual tills, including counting floats and performing end of shift till procedure
