Job Summary
Register patients, schedule appointments, and process payments while greeting guests and managing front desk functions. Check patients in and out, collect co-payments via cash, check, or credit card, and assist with insurance eligibility and payment options. Maintain patient flow, answer phones, route messages, and prepare daily reports and deposits. Verify fee tickets in the practice management system, pull charts as needed, and participate in quality improvement activities. Manage cash collections, balance posted payments, and assist with care reminders and follow-up tracking. Maintain lobby materials and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to gain knowledge of current practice management system, electronic medical record, Microsoft Word, text paging, Internet, and Intranet
- Ability to stand
