Job Summary
Chiropractic Assistant role supporting Excelsia Injury Care in Elkton, MD and Gaithersburg, MD offices. Responsibilities include assisting patients before/after care, taking vital signs, performing physical therapy modalities as directed by the D.C., accurately documenting modalities and patient comments in progress notes, maintaining clean exam/treatment rooms, monitoring PT equipment, laundering supplies, managing inventory and office operations, handling patient registration and charting, and traveling to additional locations to ensure coverage. The position requires cross-training between Patient Representative and Chiropractic Assistant, with an emphasis on professional communication and organizational skills. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, state certification enrollment with 20 observation hours and 520 clinical hours within one year, CPR/First Aid certification, and 1 year of office experience in PT and/or chiropractic care. CPR/First Aid certification must be maintained. Physical/mental demands include varied activities such as sitting, standing, lifting up to 20 lbs, and routine office tasks. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- State Certification or enrollment in an approved course of study to include 20 observation hours and 520 clinical hours of in-office training to become State Certified within one year of employment
- Certification in CPR and/or First Aid
- 1-year experience in office providing physical therapy and/or chiropractic care
- Tact and skill in patient management
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively interact with doctors, patients, and co-workers
