Job Summary
Prepare exam and treatment areas by cleaning rooms and ensuring supplies are available. Escort patients to exam areas, review paperwork for accuracy, and explain required procedures before the chiropractor's visit. Provide prompt medical support, collect and record data accurately, and maintain order of equipment and supplies. Support the chiropractor and health center by completing general clinical and office function tasks. Provide basic education and information to patients, answering questions and alleviating anxieties. Communicate openly with supervisors and staff, participate in in-services and meetings, and adhere to confidentiality rules. Work flexible or extended hours where necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant Certification/Diploma from an accredited school
- Valid Lifesaving Certification
- Possess a valid CA License
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and push up to 50 pounds (on wheels)
- Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to patients and staff
- Must be able to read memos, computer screens, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents
- Must have high manual dexterity
- Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, kneel, twist/turn
- Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Preferably experience with chiropractic medicine preferred
