Job Summary
Provide virtual Chinese language instruction to improve proficiency across listening, reading, and speaking (ILR 3/3/3) and deliver instruction on regional culture using modern blended-learning methods. Develop lesson plans, assess learner progress (DLPT/ACTFL/OPI), review assignments, and provide feedback. Collaborate with Site Lead, POI analyst, or Language Instructional Developer to address curriculum gaps, maintain a professional virtual learning environment, and utilize GOVT-approved materials to support instruction.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Educated native speaker of Chinese or near-native proficiency in listening, reading, and speaking with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent
- Experience delivering foreign language instruction in a virtual environment
- Understanding of cultural, social, and political environment of the Chinese-speaking region
- Ability to create blended learning lessons and tailor materials to customer needs
- Access to Windows computer, webcam, headset with microphone, phone or smart tablet, and high-speed internet
