Job Summary
Chiller Technician responsibilities include servicing HVAC equipment on customer sites, performing preventive maintenance and emergency service visits, coordinating with dispatcher and Area Team Leader, preparing maintenance and service quotes, and maintaining equipment and inventory. Requires customer communication, paperwork accuracy, ability to work overtime and on-call, and maintaining licenses/certifications (EPA Type I/II). Office hours typically 7:30 AM–3:30 PM with potential overtime during peak cooling season; duties include field service in commercial buildings and possible overnight stays; requires high school diploma/GED, clean driving record, and Local Union 72 membership; EPA refrigerant handling certification and proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile devices are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in a drug free workplace
- Possess a clean driving record and a current driver’s license
- Local Union 72 membership as Apprentice, Tradesman, or Journeyman
- EPA Certification for refrigerant handling, Type I and II
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
