Job Summary
Supervise and engage children in a safe, caring environment by leading games, activities, crafts, and age-appropriate experiences. Ensure the safety and well-being of every child through active supervision with constant line of sight and sound, while assisting with diaper changes, toileting, and infant feedings as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging Childwatch/YKIDS area by following YMCA policies, childcare standards, and abuse risk management procedures. Build positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff, and attend required trainings and staff meetings. Complete background checks, child abuse screenings, and obtain First Aid, CPR/AED, and YMCA certifications before the start date.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Passion for working with children of all ages
- Positive, patient, energetic, and dependable attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lead activities while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
- Commitment to the YMCA's mission and core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility
- Ability to successfully complete required background and child abuse screenings
- Ability to obtain required First Aid, CPR/AED, and required YMCA certifications before the start date
- Must be available to work Kids Night Out, and special youth events
