Job Summary
Supervise and engage children in a safe, caring environment by leading games, activities, crafts, and age-appropriate experiences while ensuring active supervision with constant line of sight and sound. Assist with diaper changes, toileting, and infant feedings as needed, and help maintain a clean, organized area following all childcare policies and abuse risk management procedures. Build positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff while attending required trainings and meetings. Report concerns promptly and communicate professionally. Work flexible part-time weekday shifts from 4pm to 7pm.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Passion for working with children of all ages
- Positive, patient, energetic, and dependable attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lead activities while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
- Commitment to the YMCA's mission and core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility
- Ability to successfully complete required background and child abuse screenings
- Ability to obtain required First Aid, CPR/AED, and required YMCA certifications before the start date
- Be flexible and available to work Kids Night Out, and special youth events
