Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a preferred major in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or closely related field of study
• •At least three (3) years of full-time work experience planning, directing, and exercising control over special projects, grants, and training initiatives, including two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity
• •Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a preferred major in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or closely related field of study
• •At least five (5) years of full-time work experience planning, directing, and exercising control over special projects, grants, and training initiatives, including two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity
• •Considerable ability to initiate, plan, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate special projects and grants
• •Considerable knowledge of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) licensing rules and regulations and other statutes, ordinances and case law pertaining to juveniles
• •Considerable ability to compile statistics, decipher and evaluate pertinent information, and present oral and written reports to officials and other interested groups or individuals
• •Considerable ability to organize and carry out complex written and oral instructions and to exercise mature judgment and initiative in analyzing problems and recommending solutions
• •Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional personnel, officials, private organizations and the public, and to promote agency needs and services
• •Considerable knowledge of supervisory techniques
• •Considerable ability and skills in analyzing and developing budgetary needs and requests
• •Reasonable ability to utilize current word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail and Internet software
• •Reasonable knowledge of shelter care, residential treatment, community-based programming, and detention programming
• •Must submit to immunizations as requested by the Department of Health & Human Services and to periodic tuberculin skin tests or chest X-rays at County expense
• •Before beginning employment, candidates will be required to provide Children's Village with documentation from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services that they have not been named in a central registry case as the perpetrator of child abuse or child neglect
• •Applicants being considered for hire will be asked to sign a form authorizing Children's Village to request and receive a criminal history check in accordance with the privacy act of 1974
• •Applicants for positions at Children's Village cannot be considered per Michigan licensing rules if they have been convicted of either of the following: (a) Child Abuse or Neglect. (b) A felony involving harm or threatened harm to an individual within the 10 years immediately preceding the date of hire
• •Ability to communicate work-related information clearly and professionally
