Job Summary
Direct the daily operations of the Transitional Care Unit nursing staff, ensuring adherence to standards of practice and managing schedules to meet productivity goals. Supervise assigned personnel, assist with training and mentoring, and contribute to nursing council or committee activities to improve patient care. Collaborate with nurse managers and clinical directors to resolve unit issues and educate patients and families regarding their concerns. Ensure supplies and equipment remain available while performing duties in accordance with the medical center's purpose.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as RN for two (2) years
- Valid RN license
- Knowledge of nursing procedures
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and registered nurses
- Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools, and programs
- Supervisory skills
- Possesses current competencies in nursing clinical practice
- Serves on at least one nursing council, hospital or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or work area
- Demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds

Desired Qualifications
- Two years of RN experience in specified area preferred
- BSN preferred
