Job Summary
Oversee and manage the childcare background check team, performing supervisory duties and filling in for staff vacancies. Make decisions on policy and procedures regarding background checks, determining eligibility and ineligibility for prospective child care employees. Ensure fingerprint-based background check renewals occur as required by the Child Care Development Fund. Collect data, generate reports on employment determinations, and represent the Department at contested ineligibility administrative hearings. Interact with licensees, applicants, and the public regarding statutory and regulatory requirements through presentations, emails, and phone. Requires a Bachelor's degree and supervisory experience; posted at $24.862 hourly with a $26.106 rate after probation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent coursework/training, in public administration, social/behavioral sciences, healthcare, human services or other program related field
- Valid Driver's License

- Ability to understand, interpret and apply instructions, laws, rules, policies and procedures pertinent to the program

- Ability to maintain liaison with community representatives and other governmental agencies
