Job Summary
Provide day-to-day care and support for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs in residential homes. Responsibilities include helping with getting ready for school, assisting with homework, completing paperwork, and planning engaging activities. The role emphasizes empathy, honesty, resilience, and a can-do attitude to support young people toward positive futures. Training includes a 4-week Care Academy induction; a DBS check is required. You’ll start life as a Residential Support Worker and may access internal progression opportunities. A full UK driving license held for at least 12 months is required; if you don’t have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), the employer will fund study support. The post is with Witherslack Group, a specialist education and care provider for children and young people with SEMH and related needs. The salary range shown reflects base pay plus allowances with potential bonuses and additional benefits, including up to 4 sleep-ins per month.
