Job Summary
Support the planning and delivery of engaging after-school programming aligned with Ontario After School Program Guidelines, including physical activity, recreation, arts, and nutrition-based activities for children ages 4–12. Lead group activities while supervising children at all times to ensure a safe environment, promote positive behavior, and resolve conflicts. Collaborate with Site Coordinators and Program Coordinators, assist volunteers, and participate in staff meetings and training sessions. Build relationships with parents and staff, communicate incidents promptly, and maintain program spaces and supplies. Assist with attendance tracking and follow health and safety procedures. Available Monday to Friday between 2:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. for the 2026–2027 school year.
Required Qualifications
- Educational background or enrollment in a related field (ECE, CYC, SSW, Recreation, Education, or similar)
- Experience working with children ages 4–12 in a structured environment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage children through sports, arts, recreation, or educational activities
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification
- Police Reference Check (required upon hiring)
- Must be available Monday to Friday between 2:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
- Availability for occasional additional hours for PA Days, staff meetings, training, and special events as required
Desired Qualifications
- HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification
- Experience in after-school programs, camps, or youth recreation settings
