Job Summary
Facilitate daily after-school programming for children ages 5–10 across multiple locations, delivering recreation, sports, literacy, and homework support while maintaining active supervision and safe staff-to-child ratios. Prepare program spaces, manage snack distribution, and ensure clean, organized environments before participants arrive. Assist with attendance tracking, incident reporting, and daily documentation while promoting positive behavior through conflict resolution and restorative practices. Collaborate with Site Leads and Program Coordinators to support PA Day programs, school breaks, and community events, and provide relief staffing at alternate locations as operationally required.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or graduated from one of the following (or a related field): Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child & Youth Care (CYC), Child & Youth Worker (CYW), Social Service Worker (SSW), Recreation & Leisure
- Experience working with children ages 5–10 in a structured environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead sports, games, arts, educational, literacy, or recreational activities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification
- HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification
- Valid Food Handler Certificate
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check
- Availability Monday through Friday throughout the school year
- Availability between 2:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., depending on assigned program location
- Availability for PA Day Programs
- Availability for School Break Programs
- Availability for Mandatory Staff Meetings
- Availability for Professional Development
- Availability for Training Sessions
- Availability for Community Events
- Availability for Special Events

- Previous experience working in After-School Programs
- Previous experience working in Summer Camps
- Previous experience working in Recreation Programs
- Previous experience working in Community Organizations
- Experience supporting children with diverse learning, behavioral, or developmental needs
- Knowledge of the Ontario After School Program Guidelines
