Job Summary
Provide genetic counseling to patients referred to the program who may be at risk for hereditary conditions. Counsel patients on all genetic testing related matters, including risk assessment, overview of genetic testing, test results and implications, and suggested follow-up. Maintain familiarity with input and data retrieval on computer databases while collaborating with health professionals. Requires a Master's in Genetic Counseling, CGC certification, and two years of recent relevant experience. Full-time, 40-hour day shift from Monday to Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Master's: Genetic Counseling
- 2 years recent relevant experience
- CGC-Certified Genetic Counselor
- Understanding of clinical applications and standards necessary to provide comprehensive, current genetic services and counseling
- Familiar with input and data retrieval on computer database
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good writing ability
- Knowledge and experience in the area of teamwork with health professionals
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred Experience in Pediatric Genetics
