Job Summary
Coordinate weekly care for elementary school-aged children during Sunday morning services from September to June, implementing curriculum for kindergarten through grade 6 in cooperation with parish clergy. Recruit, screen, train, and oversee the volunteer team while maintaining an orderly Sunday School room and stocking necessary supplies. Foster relationships with parents, manage the yearly ministry budget, and provide annual written reports to the vestry. Complete approximately 4.5 hours of Sunday leading and one hour of monthly planning with clergy, with remaining hours allocated for curriculum preparation and administrative tasks.
Required Qualifications
- An active and vibrant Christian faith and commitment to the communal life of the church
- A love for children and passion for their formation as followers of Jesus
- Show ability to communicate in ways compatible with children's learning styles
- Basic administrative abilities
- Comfortable working within the liturgical and theological tradition of the Anglican Church of Canada
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in teaching is an asset
