Job Summary
Lead hour-long healthy cooking enrichment classes for children ages 3-18, guiding them through hands-on preparation of global recipes while teaching basic kitchen skills, nutrition, and recipe history. Independently shop for fresh ingredients and review weekly curricula to prepare for instruction sessions. Manage and engage groups of 8-14 diverse children in a safe, educational environment, providing direction and encouragement throughout the cooking process. Commit to full sessions ranging from 4-12 weeks with availability Monday through Friday between 2-5pm.
Required Qualifications
- Availability at least 2 days a week (Monday - Friday, between 2-5pm)
- Commitment to teaching full sessions (ranging from 4-12 weeks)
- Washington Food Worker Card (can obtain before teaching)
- Ability to manage and engage a group of 8-14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels
- Upon hire, employees will be required to pass a fingerprint background check
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to communicate with our team in a timely manner
- Punctual and reliable
