Job Summary
Lead hour-long cooking enrichment classes for children ages 3-18, guiding them through hands-on preparation of global recipes while teaching basic kitchen skills, nutrition, and food history. Independently shop for fresh ingredients and review weekly curricula to prepare for instruction. Engage groups of 8-14 diverse students in a dynamic environment, fostering healthy food habits and culinary curiosity. Requires availability 2 days a week between 2-5pm for full 4-12 week sessions, along with a Washington Food Worker Card and background check.
Required Qualifications
- Availability at least 2 days a week (Monday - Friday, between 2-5pm)
- Commitment to teaching full sessions (ranging from 4-12 weeks)
- Washington Food Worker Card (can obtain before teaching)
- Ability to manage and engage a group of 8-14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels
- Upon hire, employees will be required to pass a fingerprint background check
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to communicate with our team in a timely manner
- Punctual and reliable
