Job Summary
Instructs children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth while maintaining safety and compliance with California Department of Social Services policies. Responsibilities include supervising children at all times, developing plans and submitting curriculum, and training co-teachers and volunteers. Candidates must have 24 units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, including specific course requirements, and requisite experience working with children.
Required Qualifications
- 24 units of Early Childhood Education or Child Development (ECE/ED) required
- 3 units in core courses of child/human development, child/family/community or child and family relations, and program/curriculum
- 16 units of general education
- 175 days of 3 hours per day within 4 years
Desired Qualifications
- Current valid credential from the Office of Teacher Credentialing, Child Development Permit- Teacher or Master Teacher
- AA or higher in ECE/CD or related field with 3 units supervised field experience in ECE/CD setting
- Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) earned in California
