Children's Art Teacher Assistant

Job Summary
Assist teachers in preparing for classes, support classroom management to ensure safety and fun, and help kids with their art projects while cheering them on. Hand out supplies, keep materials organized, and lead peers in maintaining a clean, neat studio environment. Manage set-up before class and clean-up after class, frequently lifting boxes up to 25 lbs and cleaning up messes. Work flexible weekday or weekend shifts, including mornings, evenings, and Sundays, with availability ranging from 5 to 15 hours per week. This part-time role offers paid training, promotion opportunities, mileage reimbursement, and discounts on classes and retail items for Kidcreate Studio, an art studio introducing children to visual arts through messy, creative experiences.
Required Qualifications
- MUST be age 18 years or older
- Must have at least 3 days of weekday availability: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Must have at least 3 days of weekday availability: 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Must be willing to work weekends; morning and/or evening shifts, including some Sundays
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle
- Comfortable working with kids ages 18 months–12 years
- Ability to work independently
- Have excellent reading comprehension skills
- Possess strong interpersonal skills; working well with others
- Proactive is your middle name! (not literally), but the ideal candidate must be able to carry on tasks with little direction
- Can maintain a neat and organized work area
- Frequently lift and carry boxes that weigh up to 25 lbs
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism; take the position seriously, even if seasonal or temporary
- Must be an enthusiastic and reliable individual
- During the school year: must be available at least two afternoons per week, and some evenings and weekends
- During the summer: must be available at least four mornings per week, and some evenings and weekends
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
