Children and Youth Specialist, Domestic Violence Shelter, Prelude (Full Time)

The Children and Youth Specialist will provide trauma-informed, client-centered care to DV survivors and their children, guiding staff in these practices; plan and coordinate age-appropriate activities for residents and their children; facilitate family, children, and youth groups and workshops; conduct orientation for new families; complete developmental/educational assessments; provide psychoeducation to parents; create a trauma-informed safe space for children to support dysregulation and emotional safety; assist with shift coverage, serve as DOE liaison, manage donations, coordinate family services (daycare, referrals), supervise children during parents’ appointments, observe developmental milestones, document interactions, adhere to mandated reporter expectations, participate in staff meetings and trainings; require HS diploma or equivalent, with 1-2 years of relevant childcare experience and knowledge of domestic violence/child abuse, and willingness to comply with organizational policies. The role is full-time with on-site location in Staten Island, NY.
