Job Summary
Provide trauma-informed, client-centered services to children and youth in a Domestic Violence Shelter, planning age-appropriate activities, facilitating groups/workshops, conducting orientation for new residents, completing developmental assessments, delivering psychoeducation to parents, creating safe spaces for children, coordinating family services and resources, supervising children during parents’ appointments, and collaborating with external partners. Requires HS diploma or equivalency, 1-2 years of relevant childcare experience, knowledge of DV/child abuse, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to engage with families using an anti-oppressive approach; role includes overnight, full-time hours with potential for remote-work support and DOE liaison responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma/High School equivalency required
- 1-2 years relevant work experience caring for children in all age groups including infants
- Knowledge of domestic violence and child abuse/neglect
- Experience working with children and families
- Knowledge of child development and strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to abide by organization rules and regulations
