Job Summary
Plan daily educational activities and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom environment for infants through age five. Assist in executing the daily educational plan, organizing space and materials, and completing required documentation. Work cooperatively with the childcare director and staff to meet children's needs while initiating contact with parents to build supportive relationships. Maintain certifications for First Aid/CPR and Food Handlers, and complete 15 hours of annual professional development. Adhere to Tenas Illahee Childcare Center regulations and Oregon Child Care Division procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Six months experience in a structured early childhood education setting (preschool, Head Start, Kindergarten, day-care center, etc.) and demonstrated skills to perform the duties of this position
- Documented satisfactory completion of a related Work Experience placement in and early childhood education setting, and demonstrated skills to perform the duties for this position
- 2 years of experience operating an in-home childcare with satisfactory employment and character references and demonstrated ability to perform the duties for this position
- Able to work effectively with families
- Able to use a positive approach in directing child behavior
- Able to work cooperatively as a team member
- Must be able to satisfy a criminal record check, Department of Human Services (DHS) background check, and to enroll and maintain enrollment in the State of Oregon Criminal History Registry
- Must have a valid First Aid/CPR Card, Food Handlers card or be able to obtain it within 60 days of employment
