Job Summary
Care for children ages 0 through grade 5 in assigned classrooms by providing a safe, engaging environment, leading age-appropriate activities, and meeting immediate needs. Communicate with parents during drop-off, pick-up, and midweek gatherings as required. Uphold all Bridgetown Church Child Protection Policies and safety procedures while supporting the Pastor of Kids in hosting childcare at various midweek and special events. Arrive 30 minutes before each event start time. Work 1-3 events monthly for approximately two hours each from September to June, with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays including Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve.
Required Qualifications
- Living within character qualifications of 1 Timothy 3v1-13
- Aligned with Bridgetown's theological beliefs as described at bridgetown.church/belief
- Agree with the leadership structure of Bridgetown Church as described at bridgetown.church/about
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience in child care, education, or babysitting
- Knowledge of physical and developmental needs of children ages 0 - grade 5
- Able to work with each age group (infant, preschool, elementary)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Enthusiasm and passion to help kids know Jesus
- Self-starter who is well organized and responsible
- Must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays (Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Christmas Eve)
- Sit frequently
- Stand occasionally, punctuated by opportunity to sit at short, varying intervals
- Walk level surfaces frequently; walk stairs on an occasional basis
- Frequent requirement for hand dexterity for computer and telephone usage, as well as writing
- Must be able to read clearly
- Must be able to hear
- Must have strong command of the English language and be able to be clearly understood when speaking
- Lift regularly up to 25lbs
- Carry regularly up to 25lbs
- Push regularly up to 25lbs
