Job Summary
The Childcare Assistant reports to The Children’s Center Manager and, under the direct supervision of the Childcare Teacher, provides hands-on instruction and high-quality care for children aged six weeks to five years. Responsibilities include participating with children in classroom activities to promote development across cognitive, social, emotional, physical, language, and daily living skills; assisting with planning, preparation, setup, and cleanup of daily activities; maintaining a clean and safe environment with proper sanitation procedures; assisting children with self-care; helping write and post daily schedules and lesson plans; maintaining positive relationships with children, staff, and parents; working under the guidance of the classroom teacher and adhering to policies; meeting continuing education requirements; performing similar duties as assigned; and knowing fire, disaster, and safety procedures relevant to the work area.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- AHCA fingerprint clearance
- DCF 45 hour Introductory Training within 12 months of hire
