Job Summary
Oversee the childcare center kitchen by creating nutritionally appropriate menus, preparing and serving meals, and managing weekly inventory while adhering to health department regulations. Assist lead teachers in providing high-quality care for infants through pre-K children, including leading age-appropriate activities and managing classroom discipline per district policy. Follow safety protocols, participate in monthly staff meetings and annual training, and communicate effectively with parents and the community. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, and crawling; occasional overtime is required.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Food management experience required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Maintain emotional control when under stress
- Demonstrate patience and flexibility in changing job demands
- Mental concentration is necessary for handling frequent interruptions while performing tasks
- Will be required to work occasional overtime
Desired Qualifications
- 48+ hours of study in higher education preferred
- One year of experience in a licensed childcare setting or teaching field preferred
