Job Summary
Lead and supervise the after-school program at Patrick Springs Primary School for ages 5–12, planning daily activities, enrichment projects, homework support, and themed events. Create a positive, inclusive environment, supervise and train after-school staff, ensure student safety and licensing compliance, communicate with families via the Playground App, and support community outreach. Requires 21+ years old and Virginia-approved qualification pathway (graduate degree in a child-related field with programmatic experience, or equivalent pathways) and supervisory experience. Part-time schedule 3:00 pm–6:00 pm with pay $18–$20 per hour. Employer-paid childcare and other benefits available. Locations include Patrick Springs, VA and Martinsville, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Virginia-approved qualification pathways: Graduate degree in a child-related field with at least 6 months of programmatic experience OR Bachelor’s degree/endorsement in child-related field with at least 1 year of programmatic experience OR 48 semester hours (or 72 quarter hours) with at least 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) in child-related subjects and at least 1 year of programmatic experience OR minimum 2 years of programmatic experience including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Plus one of: one-year early childhood certificate (30 semester hours) OR CDA credential or equivalent OR certification from a recognized Montessori organization
- Management requirements: experience supervising, orienting, training, and scheduling staff OR applicable management coursework/training
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings required by Virginia state regulations
- Preferred: Current pediatric CPR/First Aid certification
