Job Summary
As a part-time After School Site Director at Meadows of Dan Elementary School, lead and supervise after-school activities for 5–12-year-olds, plan enrichment projects, provide homework support, and ensure a safe, engaging environment. Responsibilities include supervising and training after-school staff, implementing curriculum and enrichment activities, ensuring compliance with state licensing and host school guidelines, communicating with families via the Playground App, supporting community outreach, and modeling enthusiasm and professionalism. Requires a Virginia-approved qualification pathway (graduate degree in a child-related field with experience or related combinations) or equivalent supervisory experience, and ongoing pre-employment screenings. Preferred qualifications include current pediatric CPR/First Aid certification. Position offers part-time benefits and potential long-term opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
- Virginia-approved qualification pathways: Graduate degree in a child-related field with minimum 6 months programmatic experience; Bachelor's degree or endorsement with minimum 1 year programmatic experience; 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours with 12 semester hours in child-related subjects and minimum 1 year programmatic experience; Minimum two years of programmatic experience with at least one year in supervisory role
- One of: One-year early childhood certificate (30 semester hours); Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent; Certification from a recognized Montessori organization; Management requirements: six months in an administrative role involving supervising staff or related coursework
