Job Summary
Lead Teacher for the Before & After School Program at Penn-Bernville Elementary School in Bernville, PA, part-time. Responsibilities include creating and facilitating hands-on activities aligned with the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic enrichment, art, and group activities), assisting students with homework, maintaining a safe and engaging environment, serving as a positive role model, on-site until dismissal, daily parent communication via the Playground App, adhering to state and program policies, and supporting attendance tracking and staffing as needed. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent credential/experience combination, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, background checks, TB clearance, and a passion for working with children.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field
- Bachelor’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience
- Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience
- Associate’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience in after-school programs, caring for school-age children, planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social-emotional and academic growth
