Job Summary
Lead Teacher for after-school program at Meadows of Dan Elementary School; responsibilities include facilitating hands-on activities (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities) and homework assistance; maintain a safe, healthy, clean, and fun environment; serve as a positive role model; communicate daily with parents via the Playground App; follow state guidelines, program policies, and host school policies; may assist with attendance, registration, and staffing; must pass Virginia background check; must be medically cleared; requires being 18+, able to lift up to 50 lbs.; part-time schedule 2:30 pm–5:30 pm; employer-provided childcare benefits; supportive, professional environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Virginia-Approved Qualification Pathways (ONE): Option 1 OR 2 OR 3 OR 4
- Option 1: Meets one of the Virginia Program Director qualification pathways
- Option 2: Bachelor’s degree in a child-related field
- Option 3: Minimum 3 months programmatic experience plus one: One-year early childhood certificate OR Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Montessori certification OR 4: 48 semester hours with child-related hours and 3 months programmatic experience
- Option 4: 48 semester hours with 12 hours in child-related subjects and 3 months programmatic experience
