Job Summary
Lead Teacher for after-school program at Woolwine Elementary School in Woolwine, VA, responsible for delivering hands-on activities from the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and homework assistance), maintaining a safe and engaging environment, and serving as a positive role model. Responsibilities include communicating daily with parents via the Playground App, following state guidelines and program policies, and performing potential management tasks such as attendance, registration, and staffing. Requires Virginia education-related qualifications or equivalent experience, background check, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and a commitment to professionalism and child safety. Hours are 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm; part-time, non-exempt. Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Virginia-Approved Qualification Pathways (ONE): Option 1, 2, 3, or 4
- Must be able to pass a Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) background check
- Must be medically cleared to perform all job duties and free of communicable diseases including TB
- Demonstrates a warm, friendly, and positive attitude with children, parents, and team members
- Maintains professionalism; dependable and punctual
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs., and engage in activities to supervise children
