Job Summary
The Child Care Director II will oversee the day-to-day operations of a child development center(s) with up to 30 staff, develop educational programs, ensure compliance with licensing and health/safety standards, manage enrollment and parent communications, supervise and evaluate teaching staff, manage budgeting and forecasting, and collaborate with senior leadership. The role requires face-to-face leadership with potential early mornings, evenings, and weekend responsibilities, and entails liaison with licensing consultants and community partners to maintain quality child care and education within a YMCA setting in Grand Rapids, MI.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; 2 semester hours in child care administration
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with licensed child care management and development; or equivalent education/experience
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills; working knowledge of computers and software applications
- Proven knowledge of state regulations and licensing requirements for childcare centers; sound fiscal principles
- CPR Certification within 60 days; First Aid Certification within 60 days; Blood Borne Pathogen training; Michigan State criminal background clearance (ICHAT); Fingerprinting
