Job Summary
Plan, design, evaluate, and implement all aspects of the child care programs in accordance with YMCA and state guidelines. Maintain required enrollment numbers, administer the program per Ohio Department of Job and Family Services requirements, and ensure compliance with safety and licensing standards. Hire, train, monitor, and evaluate staff while filling vacancies and ensuring all members complete required trainings. Conduct program inspections for safety hazards, maintain a clean environment, and manage records for grants, food programs, and accreditation plans. Actively recruit volunteers, distribute marketing materials, and build relationships with parents and community partners. Substitute as the on-site Director when needed and drive a vehicle to transport up to 14 children for site visits.
Required Qualifications
- A 2-year college degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- plan for completion of 4-year college degree
- If college degree is not in Early Childhood Education, 12 college credit hours must be in education field
- College transcripts must be provided
- If college degree is not in Early Childhood Education, must be able to obtain a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) within 1 year of hire
- 2 years experience in child care or education field
- 2 years experience in child care program area systems, procedures, and guidelines
- Must hold a valid driver's license
- insurable driver's record according to the YMCA's insurance carriers
- reliable transportation to travel for business meetings, training events, YMCA site visits, vendors and suppliers, etc
- Computer skills
- ability to learn the internal YMCA software
