Job Summary
The Childcare Coordinator (Senior Activity Leader) is responsible for developing and monitoring activities in school age and day camp programs. This part-time position requires an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and at least 2 years of experience working with children, along with various certifications in CPR and First Aid.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess high school diploma or GED
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university required
- Must be able to obtain a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or equivalent
- CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen required within first 60 days of employment and kept current
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children
- Must have supervision experience
- Must have previous licensed childcare experience
- 1 year minimum of office administration and customer service required
- 1 year minimum of supervisory experience is strongly preferred
- Computer skills needed, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications
- A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, required only for employees who will perform driving responsibilities
Additional Requirements
- Candidates without a valid license may still be hired but will not be eligible to drive YMCA vehicles until requirements are met
