Job Summary
Executive Director leads operations, people, and performance at a well-established early childhood center in Billings, MT. This senior leadership role focuses on enrollment targets, staffing stability and cost management, licensing compliance, and delivering high-quality family experiences while upholding center policies, systems, and financial health. Key duties include daily operations management to achieve enrollment, staffing plans and ratio compliance, on-site leadership for families and tours, staff coaching and performance management, and data-driven decision-making on budgeting and staffing. The role requires a calm, decisive leader with a systems-thinking approach who can build a capable team, ensure audit readiness, and partner with an engaged leadership team to support center health and growth. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of leadership in early childhood or similar operations, experience in budgeting and financial reporting, and is eligible for Montana ECP Practitioner Registry Level 3+ (Level 4 preferred); a Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent leadership experience. The opportunity includes a base salary of $50,000–$55,000, relocation assistance for the right candidate, paid time off and holidays, childcare benefit, and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of leadership experience in early childhood education or a comparable operational leadership role
- Demonstrated experience managing teams, schedules, and center operations
- Working knowledge of budgeting, labor management, and financial reporting
- Eligible for Montana ECP Practitioner Registry Level 3+ (Level 4 preferred)
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent leadership experience
