Job Summary
The Child Care Cook, Food Specialist, is responsible for overall food preparation for the school’s enrolled children. Create home-style, nutritious meal plans in the boundaries of the school’s menu and budget, and in accordance with state and federal requirements. Prepare meals/snacks for children and staff, distribute food to classrooms, and follow the daily menu provided by the Director which incorporates USDA, licensing, and health department regulations. Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more as needed. May assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater. Ensure health and safety, organize kitchen operations, and adapt to menu changes while meeting meal schedules.
