Job Summary
Provide attentive, responsive care to children in assigned rooms or groups, maintaining a clean, safe, and stimulating environment for ages 2 months to 6 years. Assist with daily routines including activities, meals, naps, diaper changes, and bathroom breaks while supporting social-emotional development through positive guidance. Adapt activities to individual needs, document attendance and meals, and maintain appropriate ratios per Vermont regulations. Build relationships with recurring families and guests, communicate daily experiences, and address parent concerns professionally. Work cooperatively with room leads, participate in staff meetings, and contribute ideas for program improvement. Support seasonal mountain resort programming and adhere to all childcare licensing standards.
Required Qualifications
- Meet minimum qualifications for a Trainee or Teacher Assistant per Vermont DCF regulations
- Certified in pediatric first aid and in infant and child CPR
- Experience working with children ages 2 months to 6 years
- Genuine enjoyment of and respect for children
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, sit on floor, and actively engage with children
- Clear communication skills and professional demeanor
- Reliability, patience, and positive attitude
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays during peak resort seasons
