Job Summary
Assist the classroom teacher to implement learning experiences and monitor children during meals, play, and nap times. Provide coverage for classroom teachers and fill in for teacher absences as needed. Help maintain a safe and positive learning environment while participating in required training to meet NYS OCFS regulations. This role involves bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. A high school diploma is required, with experience in a childcare setting preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma

- Ability to relate to children and develop positive relationships
- Excellent communication skills
- Multitasking skills
- First Aid, CPR and AED certifications (obtainable within 30 days of hire)
- Child Abuse Prevention and Health and Safety course completion from NYS OCFS (within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of people representing all social and economic segments of the community
- Proficiency in office software
- Ability to participate in a variety of physical activities
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach, walk, pull, push, sit, or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Finger dexterity
- Grasp ability
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Ability to talk and hear
