Job Summary
Plan and implement weekly lesson plans tailored to children's developmental needs while ensuring social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth. Manage classroom and program areas by maintaining supplies, disinfecting equipment per state regulations, and monitoring cleanliness. Document attendance, incidents, and transitions for each child; report concerns to supervisors and communicate with parents through conferences. Conduct required screenings, maintain CACFP records, and transport up to 14 children safely when driving duties apply. Assist in other classrooms as needed and attend staff meetings and trainings. Work summer months and Day Camps; part-time, non-exempt, $12.00–$15.50/hour.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess high school diploma or GED
- Possess the ability and appropriate safe driving record to drive a vehicle, safely transporting up to 14 children, and to travel between locations for work-related purposes as needed
- A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and completion of YMCA Driver Orientation are required only for employees who will perform driving responsibilities as part of their role
- Candidates without a valid license may still be hired but will not be eligible to drive YMCA vehicles until requirements are met
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university preferred
- Six months experience working in early childhood field strongly preferred
