Job Summary
Lead worker and mentor to a unit of lower-level Child Welfare Specialists within Child Protective Services, Family Centered Services, and Permanency Planning. Serve as team leader in staff meetings, provide ongoing case consultation, and advise and train lower-level specialists in case management and policy interpretation. Carry complex and difficult caseloads, monitor investigations and individualized service plans, review court reports, and assist in coordinating Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children efforts. This specialist level role also includes backup supervision responsibilities. Applicants must possess a Master's Degree in Social Work or equivalent experience and must be willing to travel extensively with a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree plus one year of experience in professional social work in child welfare programs
- Bachelors Degree plus two years experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- Three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- Valid driver's license
- Required car insurance
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance
