Job Summary
Investigate allegations of child abuse or neglect, conduct assessments of children and families, and prepare case reports and documentation. Protect the safety of children by providing services to help families overcome barriers to safety, while preserving parental protective capacities to prevent unnecessary out-of-home placements. Provide direct services to children in placement, refer families to community resources, and participate in investigations of abuse and neglect. Attend court hearings, provide testimony, and consult with attorneys and tribal partners regarding permanent plans for the child. Visit children in placement and involve family members in their own treatment plans.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university
- 3 years of experience related to child welfare work
- A combination of education and experience
- A bachelor's degree
- One year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- A Master's degree
- A Bachelors Degree
- one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- Two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- valid driver's license
- required car insurance
