Job Summary
Child Welfare Specialist I/II/III in Oklahoma's state agency. Responsibilities span Child Protective Services, Family Centered Services, and Permanency Planning: investigate allegations of abuse/neglect, protect child safety, provide services to families, involve family members in treatment plans, arrange placements when needed, and work toward safe reunification or permanent plans. Performs visits and assessments, prepares case reports, testifies in court, and collaborates with attorneys and tribal partners. All new employees complete the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program and may travel extensively. On-call hours and weekend work may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Child Welfare Specialist Level I: 90 hours from an accredited college or university; OR 3 years of experience related to child welfare work; OR a combination of education and experience.
- Child Welfare Specialist Level II: a bachelor's degree (in any field) to qualify; OR one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
- Child Welfare Specialist Level III: Master's degree; OR a Bachelor's Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist; OR two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
