Job Summary
Investigate allegations of child abuse or neglect, conduct assessments of children and families, and provide direct services to children in placement. Protect the safety of children by preserving family protective capacities and preventing unnecessary out-of-home placements. Prepare case reports and documentation, attend court hearings, and provide testimony. Refer families and children to community services while consulting with attorneys and tribal partners regarding reunification or permanent plans. Visit children in placement and participate in investigations of abuse and neglect. This role supports Oklahoma's largest state agency in creating pathways to hope for all Oklahomans through extensive training provided to new employees.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university
- 3 years of experience related to child welfare work
- A combination of education and experience
- A bachelor's degree
- One year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- A Master's degree
- A Bachelors Degree
- one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- Two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- valid driver's license
- required car insurance
