Child Welfare Case Manager (10150)

Job Summary

Accept assigned cases and meet with children and parents within 2 and 15 working days of staffing to complete Family Assessments. Negotiate case plans for reunification or permanency, conduct home visits at least once every 25 days including quarterly unannounced visits, and arrange emergency placements or medical treatment as needed. Document all activities in the Florida Safe Families Network database within 48 hours, submit court documentation, and attend all case staffings and court activities. Conduct safety assessments, perform home studies for prospective placements, and facilitate parental and sibling visits. Provide direct supervision to children awaiting placement and transport children as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field
  • Degree in Social Work preferred
  • Must have a minimum of one year of relevant experience working with children
  • Must obtain child welfare certification within one year of hire date
  • Valid driver's license and appropriate auto liability insurance ($10,000/$20,000) required
  • Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs
  • Must be adaptable to irregular hours
  • Must be flexible to rotate on-call as needed
  • Must be able to travel as needed
