Job Summary
Child Watch Team Member at Bloomington-Normal YMCA. Provide care for children in the Child Watch area, maintain a safe and clean environment, and support healthy child development by applying youth development principles. Responsibilities include supervising children, promoting program opportunities to parents, maintaining attendance records, reporting suspicions of child abuse, and following all health and safety regulations and guidelines. Requires effective communication, the ability to interact with both children and adults, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks. Minimum age 18; CPR/AED and First Aid certifications and mandated trainings are required or provided upon hire. Demonstrates YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility, and contributes to a supportive, inclusive team culture. Location: Bloomington, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18
- CPR/AED certification (provided upon hire)
- Illinois Mandated Reporter Certification
- Illinois Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Training
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification
- OSHA training including Bloodborne Pathogens
- Illinois Mandated Reporter Training
- Ownership of health and safety regulations knowledge
- Proficiency in communicating with diverse groups
