Job Summary
Provide a safe, caring environment for Child Watch participants under YMCA policies; supervise and engage children/teens while parents attend classes; follow mandated abuse reporting; participate in emergency procedures; support mission and YMCA fundraising efforts; maintain professional communication with parents and staff; complete required certifications and trainings within specified timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Experience working with children in a supervised setting preferred
- Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 required within 60 days of hire
- Complete and maintain required trainings: NEO, Bloodborne Pathogens, CAP, Sexual Harassment annually
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check and Child Protective Services check
- Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities
- Ability to communicate with assigned ages and skill levels and provide instruction
- Ability to observe participants and enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures
- Physical ability to respond to emergencies and provide first aid
