Job Summary
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in youth program areas, ensuring all classes align with YMCA standards and safety procedures. Maintain positive rapport with youth and parents while preparing materials, equipment, and proper attire for each session. Leave program areas safe, clean, and properly arranged, adhering to bloodborne pathogen standards and annual training. Work effectively with diverse community groups and serve as a mandated reporter for child abuse concerns. Requires CPR and First Aid certification, minimum one year youth programming experience, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year youth programming experience
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Safety training
- Red Cross Babysitter Certification (if under the age of 18)
- At least 16 years of age
- Excellent personal computer skills
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated team player
- Commitment to the mission, cause of the YMCA, and upholding its values and ethics
- Ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
- Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect
